Small budget? Try Funded Trading 💡
▾

"Funded trading" (prop trading) means proving your skill in an evaluation (Challenge). Pass it, and you trade with the firm's own capital, keeping a share of any profits — without risking large amounts of your own money.

One of the best-known funding firms is FTMO. Here's a summary of its current programs (figures and terms change over time, so always check the official site before deciding):

FTMO Challenge (Two-Step)
  • Phase 1: 10% profit target
  • Phase 2 (Verification): 5% profit target
  • Max daily loss: 5%
  • Max overall loss: 10% (fixed, doesn't move)
  • Min. trading days: 4 per phase, no time limit
  • Profit split: starts at 80%, up to 90% with the Scaling Plan
FTMO 1-Step Challenge
  • Single phase, 10% profit target
  • Max daily loss: 3%
  • Max overall loss: 10% (trailing — rises as the account grows)
  • "Best day" rule: no single day may exceed 50% of total profitable-day gains
  • Min. trading days: 4
  • Profit split: 90% from the first payout

Account sizes range from $10,000 to $200,000, and the evaluation fee is refunded in full with your first payout once funded.

This is a general educational summary of how funded-trading firms work, not investment advice or a profit guarantee. Passing any evaluation does not guarantee future trading results, and trading always carries the risk of losing capital. Figures and terms were current at the time of writing and are subject to change by FTMO at any time — always check the official FTMO site before deciding. Tradawy is an independent education platform, not an official FTMO channel. Tradawy may earn a commission if you sign up through our partner link, at no extra cost to you.

Common questions

Before you move on, the questions everyone asks.
Is using this site free?

Yes, all educational content on Tradawy is completely free. We only earn a commission if you open a live account with a broker through our link — that changes nothing about your own cost.

Is Exness a safe broker?

Exness is licensed by recognized regulators such as the FCA, CySEC, and FSCA, depending on the entity you register with. Like any trading, there's risk involved — the final decision is yours, and we try to help you make it well-informed.

Do I need experience before I start?

No — we've designed this assuming you're starting from zero. The articles are ordered to take you from "what is gold" to opening your first trade, step by step.
